The X-wing starfighter became the premiere Alliance weapon when the Empire nationalized the Incom Corporation. Three landing gears extend when the fighter is docked. The astromech droid provides astrogation data for the fighter's hyperdrives, and serves as a co-pilot and technician during flight. Behind the X-wing's cockpit is an astromech socket. Located midway through the ship is the X-wing's cockpit module.
The surface of each S-foil bears squadron and fighter markings. The wings not only serve as stabilizer surfaces in air travel, but also distribute deflector ship shield energy and serve as weapons mounts. Each engine has an aerodynamic S-foil mounted on it. The long, narrow spaceframe is flanked in the aft quarter by four massive realspace engines. The sleek fuselage of the X-wing starfighter is 12.5 meters long. Pressed into service time and again, the typical Alliance X-wing shows the scars from previous engagements, though the fact that it still performs as an advanced vessel of space superiority is indication of the ruggedness of the craft. The Incom T-65 X-wing starfighter has become a symbol of the Rebellion's starfighter corps. It might be wise to limit weapon loadout to two blasters if using higher-level ones: this will provide greater damage output without draining capacitor reserves too rapidly. This allows the addition of strong, economical shielding systems and heavier weapon systems, on all Xwing fighters. Tier3 alliance pilots have access to level 7 equipment. It's three laser slots shouldn't be overlooked: a canny pilot could fill these with light or medium-grade blasters and a good capacitor, which will allow them to make short work of unshielded TIE craft they're likely to engage. Additional droid commands become available to pilots around the time they graduate to an X-wing - learn and incorporate these quickly in order to maximise this fighter's effectivess.
It has greater maneuvearbility than a Y-Wing and is tougher than a Z-95. Mid-tier pilots might welcome the X-wing when it becomes available to them. The X-wing is the backbone of the Alliance starfleet. However, the fighter performs admirably, able to bring large amounts of firepower to bear without the slow-moving vulnerability of a Y-wing or B-wing. The X-wing is slower and less maneuverable than its A-wing cousin, which puts it at a disadvantage in combat against TIE Advanced and faster targets.
